Temple Lights

Part of our Christmas celebration this year included a trip to see the lights at the Temple. We arrived just at dusk and set off to see the lights.
Wait -- back up. First, I need to include a bit of drama on the drive. As we were heading out the door to get in the car, Caleb told us that his tummy felt yucky. Well, Caleb often has a yucky tummy and it usually means nothing. So, we didn't get worried, we just grabbed a bowl and hopped in the car. About halfway to the Temple, Caleb calls up from the back of the car that he doesn't feel good. And by the look on his face, I can tell that he really means it. We start to pull off the freeway when suddenly I am eternally grateful that I sent Caleb with a bowl! Amazingly enough everything was contained in the bowl and we cleaned him and the bowl up with some bottled water from the car. Then the debate started: Should we still go? Well, Caleb was a trooper and agreed to go for just a couple of minutes. Seeing the many different kinds of lights and colorful decorations really distracted him and made him glad that he decided to go. (For the record: he was all better after that and didn't throw up again -- just so you know that we aren't totally crazy!) Caleb decided his favorite part was the nativity and Meagan's favorite part is the new bright lights that made some of the palm trees look like they were "covered in ice". And Rebekah slept through the entire thing!
