A Bunch of Firsts

This weekend is full of lots of first time events for the Jones kids.

First on the list of firsts is a community service opportunity.

Caleb and Meagan played Christmas songs on the piano

at the main Post Office in downtown Mesa.

Then Meagan's Grandma Jones took her to her first formal ballet at Phoenix Symphony Hall.

Meagan came home bubbling with enthusiasm for the dancers, costumes 

and the giant cookie they got as a snack from Grandma and Papa.

We rounded off the weekend with another first as 

Caleb played his first special musical number in sacrament meeting.  

He played a special arrangement of "The Nativity" from the Children's Songbook.

Although a little bittersweet to see my kids growing up,

there's something really neat about having the privilege of journeying together 

with your kids as they encounter all the firsts in their life.

Here's to a thousand more firsts.
