Wearing out the kids

On Saturday morning, we headed over to the zoo

to wear out the kids and

enjoy a little time together (in that order!).

While herding the offspring to the kid's area of the zoo,

I managed to snap a picture of the new spring ambiance.

This was our first zoo outing that

Rebekah has been big enough

to walk up the big hill to the children's area...

thus accomplishing goal number 1.

Luckily, we've fooled our kids into thinking that walking

(or running) a couple of miles at the zoo on every visit is totally normal.

After getting to the kid's area, our trio

were instantly starving.

There's something about getting kids on an outing

that makes them instantly ravenous

and ready to wilt in hunger.

After munching on some animal crackers

(clever I know)

we were ready for more action.

After checking out the fun playground and a few animals,

Rebekah headed toward the exit with dad,

while the big kids fit in a few extra minutes of fun.
